Circulating Tumor Cells for Cancer Diagnosis and Prognosis

A postdoctoral position in translational medicine is available immediately in the Kuhn Laboratory, Cell Biology, at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA.  The successful candidate will focus on the dynamics of cancer over time in correlation with cell signaling events through receptor tyrosine kinases including EGFR, HER2, EphA2 and EphB4 using cell biology and biophysical approaches. The candidate will use existing approaches in the lab to identify and characterize circulating tumor cells isolated from the blood of cancer patients. Candidates (PhD and/or MD) must have experience with immunochemistry assay development, and a strong background in cancer biology as well as biophysical tools. Strong training and participation in projects with lead roles is preferred.
